The small village of Ribeira da Barca has a fishing port that supplies fish to the community, and the city of Assomada.

From the port, you can take a short boat trip to the Grotto of Aguas Belas.

The landscape is magnificent. With good visibility we can see the volcano on the island of Fogo

The population lives off fishing, cattle raising and collecting black sand to support families and build houses, even though they know that it is prohibited and puts nature at risk.
